    FYI...

Sears is closing out a 7-piece Craftsman box/open end wrench set. 9-47005 is the metric, sizes 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14mm. Price marked down from $19.99 to $6.88. I think 9-47004 is the SAE version of the same set but I don't have the exact sizes handy.

These are closeouts, so some stores have them, some not.

Is craftsman worth the money? I use basically Facom, Gedore, Hazet, Stahlwille, Snap on ... (and similar)

Craftsmen tools are worth every dime they charge you. They are produced by Western Forge for Sears, I believe. Unless you work with them on a dialy basis thier tools suit the bill of most work. I am an Auto Mechanic by trade and use tools all day long. I use many craftsman sockets, but for wrenches and screwdrivers I prefer Snap-on, Mac Tools, Cornwell, & Matco - In that order.
Everyone who does not have a set should treat themselves to a set of Snap-On screwdrivers. If you use wrenches alot, Snap-On Flank Drive Wrenches are the best. You can that a 10mm bolyt with a 15mm head, clamp the thread tightly in a vise, and twist off the head of the bolt. With the Open End of the wrench. When this was demonstrated to me about 12 years ago, I shelled out $270 for 10mm thru 19mm wrench set. One of the best tool investments I have ever made.
Any craftsman tool that cost less than $1.00 per piece is a deal.

My Dad was a machinist/millwright who worked construction projects installing heavy machinery. On one job he was using a Craftsman 1" drive socket with a breaker bar on which he'd slipped a four foot length of pipe for leverage. He broke the socket. Went into Sears that night and they gave him a new one. Next day he broke that one and Sears replaced it, too with never a word.

Sounds, as if I should get myself a set of inch tools, when I am in Seattle the next time ...

I spent 1 summer working at SEARS and went to a craftsman workshop put on by the manufacturer. They specificaly stated that as long as you cn tell its a craftsman tool there is no reason why you can't replace them.
If you leave em out in the rain and they rust....No problem
using your socket wrench for a hammer or accidently cut it in half with a bench grinder? no problem.
I've had customers return tools because they weren't shiny anymore.
the only things that arent covered are power tools and mechaical devices like torque wrenches. The warranty is due to the manufacturer not Sears. so just make sure they are covered by lifetime warranty before you buy.
P.S. there Torx bits suck balls.

Do you want it done right or do you want me to do it?
