    Thanks.

Yeah, I'm a dumbass when it comes to a "smart phone".

Have a neighbors kid set up a sync with google or something.

As soon as I enter a new contact/edit existing ones, it syncs to the interwebs, so even if I loose my phone, I am up and running within 2 minutes of getting a new one.
If it doesn't have an engine, it's not a sport, it's only a game.

You might have set up a backup system when you got the phone, call your service provider to see if you have one set up. If that is the case you can simply download your old numbers to your phone and be on your way.

No joke. There are things this phone can do that.........kinda scares me.

I just learned how to use the GPS thing this fall. That's pretty cool.

I still haven't figured out how to put music on it. Harry or Ivan will show me though.

I'm not a technophobe by any means, but I absolutely will not own a cell phone that makes it so easy for the Gov. to track everywhere I go, what I do, what I say. Some of the apps you can install on these phones is scary. There is an app you can use that will tell you any ones whereabouts as long as you have their cell phone number. Even dumb phones. I think it's BS that people are designing these things legally. These smart phone designers will never have my business, I'll go back to analog telegraphing first.

Why do you think the government is handing out free phones?

I am on Google+ with several close friends and we can track each other that way. Not entirely a bad thing in some situations.

You can only track a cell phone, not a person................yet.

Smart phones can easily be hacked to turn on and listen in on you even if you think the phone is off. Who would be interested in that except for people who are up to no good? NSA!!!

LOL...all they would hear is my old left hipbone crunching. I post more interesting stuff on FB than I would ever say on my phone anyway and that is totally public. I ain't hiding anything.

                          Hey Steve,

I recently got a slightly smarter dumb phone. I also had a generic flip phone with my very basic Tracfone access for the past 2 years, but I couldn't even have any custom ringtones...just a basic phone. Everybody I'm around have their Galaxy IIIs and Iphones and such. I prefer to use my laptop or desktop for my internet as well as emails. I wanted a relatively simple touch screen phone, and Tracfone actually had an LG800G Java based for a modest price.

Also it had the newer digital technology vs. the old analog, so it's ability to have access was much improved. It has a basic built in camera, can run apps albeit JAVA ones, I can create my own ringtones, and it has a Qwerty virtual keyboard for texts vs. the irritating T-9 style pad. It can also play MP3's if I want to. I'll still be using it as a basic phone and a few texts, but not emails or internet.

Steve, when I was researching the features for the type of touch pad phone I was comtemplating, some could use WI-FI service vs. the actual phone's connection service. I'm sure you've got wifi set up in your home, so you should be able to connect to it to "play" with some of the advanced "net" features of the phone without needing the actual phone service access!

Greg, glad your phone "had your back", shows how important backups of all types are so helpful and necessary for all of our "smart" devices!

You realize that every cell phone made within the last 10-12 year has tracking in it for 911 purposes, and even if you have one that doesn't have that service tower triangulation only takes about 30 seconds longer than the GPS.
