OK, Top Cat, and others, I will have to man up here. The main reason it took ten years to get this far is because of depression. I don't have a sever case but sometimes I am paralized from doing alot of the the things I should be doing. I have a shrink now these last 5 years that has finally got me on to some better chemicals that help alot. So you will hear a lot more from me now that I am not hiding from things and people. I have had days in a row that I sat playing a simple card game for 8 or more hours at a time. This is the end, I hope, of a long journey in which I became progressively worse over a 50 year period. If this stuff fills the chemical defecency in my brain, I will be a different person. One my wife wants to be married to quite badly. So there is my confession. Depression isn't a stigma anymore, it's a real illness that can be treated with meds and then life gets back to normal.
By the way JWHughes, I am looking forward to the Yoohoo!!!!
Thanks to all the brothers here that have put up with me, you are princes, one and all.

Congratulations Jack! There are more than a couple folks in my family that have depression, my daughter had a mild case in her teen years. So I fully understand how it effects ones ability to function. I am very happy to hear you are on the track to successfully controlling it!!

BTW, if you ever get the chance to stay at the Marriot Residence Inn that was built there a few years ago, Only tell me the parts you like! I designed the Mechanical and Electrical systems for it.

DGXSER , If that is the Marriot next door to the St.Charles County Auto dealer, then I drive by it often. It is just south of I-70 on a service road. And I think there is a Dodge dealer there too.

kudos on getting the help you needed.
I, myself am bone idle and if there's a cure for that I'm too lazy to seek it out.
Which is why I sit at the keyboard and post stuff instead of doing meaningful things.
Which is why my post count is way up there.
And perhaps "Half Guru" ain't right for you. "Terse Guru" would be a more accurate handle.
For sure, all your posts that I remember were accurate and to the point.
Which is far more important than their number.

Thanks Fred! It is really hard to do something about depression, because you get comfortable in hiding from the world and the responsibility that goes with it. I finally realized how badly my behavior was destroying my marriage and knew I had to do something about it. Next to my marriage, I damaged my relationships with relatives and friends. I have many relatives that I haven't seen or talked to for dozens of years. My fault not theirs. I have to say that the encouragement I have expirienced here is very supportive to me. I just thank all of you.

Hey there Jack. SWMBO is dealing with the same thing, and has been off work on disability for almost 2 years because of it. I just wish she could find a mix of chemicals and treatment that could flip that switch for her too. Glad you got what you needed.

Bug, I am now just started to take a two chemical cocktail of Abilify and Cymbalta(sp). The Cymbalta is the main stuff with the Abilify is a booster I guess you would call it. Abilify is pretty edgey stuff, it can make you manic, that is, your brain revs up and you go a hundred miles an hour. Kinda like some illegal drugs. But, for me it works fairly well, certainly much better than the one drug regime I was on for years. but I do have to stop and check what I am doing, why I am doing it and that sort of thing once in a while. The important thing is that these drug effects are not long term. If they mess you up, you can stop taking them and the effect goes away in about a day. I hope the Missus is under care of someone and that someone will be ameanable to suggestions. If so, discuss my drugs with him/her and see what they think. I DO hope she can get some help soon, in fact I am going to put her on our prayer list, I hope you don't mind.
