  • S/S lines Available as well as other parts at XJBikes

While some of you know I have been working with a supplier to make S/S brake lines available for our XS11's, some may not. I have posted in the Links section:

    http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38451

as well as the product evaluations section:

    http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38453

I am very curious to find what the members think of these lines and the pricing as well as all the other parts that are available from this supplier which are far too many to list here.
Suffice it to say that anyone who wants to know will have to spend considerable time looking at the price list to evaluate what is there.

The contact info for this fellow is Len also known as Chacal at info@xj4ever.com

The price list can be viewed at:

    http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=40222.html

Just so everyone knows I am not the seller nor do I profit from the sales of these lines. I did work with him and did the clocking and test fit of the lines. They are a simple drop in fit for our original XS11's (all years).
There is a one piece replacement for the rear lines available, but no plans have been made for non-stock bars and that will be up to the individual to contact the seller and see if he will make custom lines for their fitment.
The lines and parts are available worldwide. That said I hope anyone who can see a benefit from this post will repost it where it may be useful to other owners.
Apparently Galfer and HEL USA have quit making the sets available but I do not have first hand knowledge of that so I may be wrong.
Anyways I would just like to hear some feedback on whether or not I spent time on this project productively or if it may have been a fail. Your opinion is requested.

    brake lines

So there I was shooting the breeze with Rasputin when this pile of kick ass brake lines caught my eye and I thought that they may have had something to do with this sizing up deal he had going on earlier this year. Turns out they were, and wow they were amazing to see all the fit and finish of any high end OEM brake lines. The stainless was sleeved in clear plastic and some in a smoked plastic, they had very nicely done crimped ends and all the rubber bushings and sleeves for anti wear included. Don't know if anyone out there is looking for brake lines but these are the ones you should be buying as they fit actual XS11 motorcycles and can completely replace every single line on our bikes from front to back standard or special. Just thought I'd comment being as I've seen them in real life and they were awesome. Thanks for getting that done Rasputin now another thing to keep our bikes going longer.

      Good Job...

...on the R & D of these SS brake lines.

"...to spend considerable time..." on xj4ever.com is not because the site is difficult to navigate, there is just so much tech info that Len adds, so you, not only can make sure that you get the right part, you'll also know the inside scoop on the installation also. Len sells every nut, bolt, and washer for the XJ bikes and a good number of parts that will work on XS bikes also.

One of the holdups on the assembly of my '80G is the SS brake lines and now I can proceed with a known 5 Star Vendor, as I have dealt with Len in the past for my XJ 750 Mid Max.

"...no plans have been made for non-stock bars and that will be up to the individual to contact the seller and see if he will make custom lines for their fitment. "

Made a list yesterday of the SS Brake Lines part numbers for my '80G and remembered I'm using the Gold Wing handlebars which demand a 2" longer MC to Union line, so I'll have to contact Len on that.

I'm going to go with the 1 peice rear SS line and all lines in Black.

IMHO , not a wasted effort at all, on your part, Ras.

In fact I've been Hem Hawing on where to get my SS lines for a couple years and Your efforts have helped make up my mind so kudos to Ya

      1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
      1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.

        Hi Rasputin,
+1 for remarks above. SS line in Addie's future too. Useful information is always welcome.

I can attest to the quality of the lines ths guy sells. I have the set designed for the XJ on my LH (same split braking system), and the lines fit like a glove with absolutely no issues. Because the line material is basically sold by the inch, they do get pricey (spent $228 for mine, without the replacement metal tubes), but knowing they are all tested and are custom-fit for my bike makes them worth it IMO.

Since I have every intention of enjoying my XS11 as my daily commuter in the summer when the weather permits, I guess I should put as much into the bike as what seems to make sense. Tkat fork brace, S/S brake lines, and maybe a HID kit in the Spring.
