is it possible to get 0.25 oversize pistons and rings in the usa,as you seem to have more stuff in the usa than us here in the uk.

It might be more fruitful and cheaper to go for a Wiseco big bore kit that includes new pistons, wrist pins, clips, all rings, and new head gasket. They can be had for around $400 US from Pro-Flo of Pensacola, Florida, USA. You can, of course, find they at a host of other Wiseco retailers, I've just found that Pro-flo tends to be a lot cheaper than many others. Perhaps there is a Wiseco retailer in the UK though?

Sizes they come in are 1179cc and 1196. Search around for threads about them for more info.

0.25 ?WHAT? inches or mm. The stock pistons are 71.5mm diam. The 1179cc Wiseco kit is a 74mm diam, which is 2.5mm larger!?

No one can get Yamaha Stock oversized pistons, they don't make them anymore, hence the need for the Wiseco kits if you need to do a bore job, you have to go big, 1179cc or BIGGER, 1196cc!! Do a search for Big bore, you'll find the posts with the links for the Pro-Flo store in Fla.. You might find a distributor for Wiseco products there in England/Europe??? HTH.
