        To late...
Healthy is merely the slowest rate at which you can die

Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better. I’ve always believed this, in spite of the trouble it’s caused me. Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube. That is why God made fast motorcycles, Bubba….Hunter S. Thompson

I live in SW Michigan and am quite happy. Lots to do and decent roads. I especially like the fall season and running up and down the shore of Lake Michigan. Hastings is a town I used to visit back in the 60's. I had a blast back in those days.

Welcome to the Greatest Lake State! I've been all over it and am never disappointed whenever I find an undiscovered corner. Explore... enjoy!

Michigan is an awesome place. Grand Rapids (GR) is pretty hip, if that's your scene, lots of really cool festivals and stuff like that to offer. I'm not a fan of the urban life so I typically avoid the Detroit and Flint areas, but that's just my opinion.

I'm about 3 hours north of you, in Gaylord. Absolutely go to the UP. Totally different than anything downstate. I went to MTU up in Houghton, and I recommend the Keweenaw Peninsula to every single motorcycle rider who will listen. US 41 up to Copper Harbor and take M-26 on the way back.

Oh yeah, if you're a fan on microbrew, now that you live in MI, you have access to Short's brewing. Hopcat in GR carries several of their taps, but visit the pub in Bellaire for more.

If you're ever in NW lower MI, let me know and we'll hang out. I'll send you a PM here in a minute with my info.
                -Do what makes you happy.

Michigan can be a tough place to be, Lots of snow and baaaaad cities. Really watch out for deer around dusk and early in the morning. It is not uncommon to have multiple car deer accidents in any given year. The western U.P., northern Wisconsin and Keewanaw Penninsula are the bomb. But if you don't have time to go that far, there are plenty of good roads south of THE BRIDGE. Especially around Petosky to Gaylord to Mackinaw City. Welcome!
