  • Can I borrow your 4 wheeler?

So we head out today for a nice relaxing afternoon on 4 wheels instead of 2. Drink a few beers, have a few laughs... My oldest son decides he wants to go also, so we rented a 4 wheeler at the offroad park we were at. Here we are at one of the bluffs.

We come to a hill called "Dead Man Slide". I crawl to the bottom and figure I'd take pics of my drunk friend crashing.. you know.. all in fun. Pics never show height well, but this hill is almost straight up and down. Here's my son directing my friend to the easier side.

Disappointingly, my buddy makes it down just fine, but I look back at my son and.. Houston we have a problem. He's rolling/crashing/running downhill with a 4 wheeler barrel rolling, chasing him.

Moral of the story... if my oldest boy EVER asks to borrow something of yours, just kindly decline.

So, someone else 4-wheels. Glad your son was not hurt, as another XSive (Rockjock) was seriously injured when a bank gave way and pitched him and machine into a stream earlier this season.

Here I am on my Grizzly 550

Normally I wear a helmet, had it off for this shot.I enjoy 4-wheeling and there are a lot of places in Colorado to ride.

I have photo records of a few of my rides at

Yeah, me too. As you can see from the third pic, I didn't have the best view of what was going on, and it looked like it rolled right over him. Quite the relief to see him walking down the hill after I ran over there. Then we got to point and laugh a minute. lol.

Yeah, me and him were wearing helmets. He's carrying it behind him in the last pic.

Thanks for the invite, but if I get back to Colorado for some offroading, it'll be on my dual-sport again! Offroading up through those mountains and passes was some of the funnest riding I've ever done.

              First Time Out/#$%&

Bought some 4 wheelers back in '02. Took the Brand New Kawasaki out for its first time one day in the NC mountains. Turned it over, bent a wheel, and cut a tire! We have been good friends since that day. Luckily (other than pride and ego) there were no injuries.

                Four-Wheelers

Besides working as an underground coal miner, I farm just over 150 acres raising Black Angus cattle.
A four-wheeler [ATV] is as handy as it can be on the farm. I use mine for checking cattle and calves, and for checking fences just to name a few.
I use mine every day, rain or shine.

In that area of WV Greg, the "hillside" he crashed on is like flat level gorund to you! Besides, you need ten times more land to have a farm so you get some ground that plants will live on. Your cattle grow up to be mountain goats.
Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

                    WV Cattle

                    Hey DGXSER,
I bet you didn't know this one: When at the livestock sales, how do you tell the WV cattle from the other cattle? The WV cattle have two legs on the same side LONGER than the two legs on their other side. They're ideally suited for traversing along the side of WV mountains! lol lol
