I just got back from being deployed again from overseas, and I'm glad to be back. Before I left I had been good and drained the carbs and taken all the precautionary measures so the bike would be ready for me to take that 1st ride. But the one thing I didn't take into consideration was my three year old battery being toast. So I've ordered a battery and have got the Ol' girl polished up and ready for the road for when the battery arrives. But most important I just wanted to send a shout out to everybody and I hope that you all are doing well! I look forward to catching up with the happenings of the XS11 Crew.

Welcome back dude. I hope you didn't order that battery online cause most places don't ship it with the sulfuric acid. You'll have to have it filled at a battery shop."The Hooligan" XJ1100, Virago Gauge Pods, Screaming Eagle Mufflers, K&N Filter, hand made rear fender, side covers, and solo seat, round bar conversion, small headlight, tail light, and cat eye turn signals, chip fuses, rewired the right way.

Yep I got it online its the same battery that I'd gotten before online. It was about $44 and now that I think of it I can't remember if it came with the acid? I'm about 80% sure that it did? But I didn't I have a ton of acid in my shed. Sulfuric acid doesn't go bad just sitting does it? That's probably a dumb question but if there's two things that I'm really good at one is, getting yelled at, and the second is asking dumb questions. I guess both kinda go hand in hand. Oh and thanks I'm glad to be back!!!

Thanks, I would have done that but I've got a smaller battery due to making the bike a bobber. So I had to find something with some pretty decent cca's that would still fit in my smaller batter box. Believe me I would have done the Wally World route because I've done that for my other bikes but I fear change. And I still had the link to where I had gotten the one previously so I just got the same thing. So yep, I'm a idiot but I've accepted it.

Oh well. It's not usually the sulfuric acid that goes bad in the battery, it's the metal plates that deteriorate. I just bought a wally world battery too, cause I got one there last time, I fear change too."The Hooligan" XJ1100, Virago Gauge Pods, Screaming Eagle Mufflers, K&N Filter, hand made rear fender, side covers, and solo seat, round bar conversion, small headlight, tail light, and cat eye turn signals, chip fuses, rewired the right way.

Yep... People say I have a touch of the "O.C.D" I get my lawn mower battery from Carquest because the still have a warranty that's pretty decent unlike Autozone and Wal-Mart. Oh and I get my car batteries from Sears because they still prorate the warranty too. I had to replace my truck battery too when I came home. Florida has extreme weather changes that plays havoc on batteries. It's always a mess when I get back I feel like I fix stuff for a month. Luckily my other bike was good after a quick set of carb rebuilds.
So I still get to ride this bad boy. I just had to replace all the tires and brakes on it but I knew that before I left.
