I have been having trouble with my clutch slipping. I had the right oil and all but just couldnt get it adjusted to not slip. It didnt slip much (i thought). Well i left the bike in the garage for about 3 weeks and hadnt been in the garage. Well, i went out to take a ride and there was gas/oil all under my bike. I had left my petcocks on and my float valves leak. Well all of my gas was gone (i have to run on reserve too). So, i got new oil and a filter. When i took off the oil plug it gushed gas. I had done this before but never got much gas in the oil and always changed it before i started it. This time it was plumb full of gas. Well, i put my new oil in and went for a ride and i could not believe it. I thought the bike was fast before, now it seems like i picked up 50 horses, its a rocket. I guess it was always slipping from varnish burned on the clutches and that gas ate the varnish off. Looks like i wont be buying those barnett springs yet.

Almost like the engine flush stuff that they sell in the auto parts store!

Good thing you spotted it and fixed it before you ran that engine.

Don't stop there, now fix the leaking floats. Maybe all they need is cleaned. You wouldn't want to turn into a fire ball going down the road.

I have had them apart several times and just never bought new float valve seals. I put one new on in and should have done them all. This winter it will be painted and the rear caliper fixed and those float seals, then it will be perfect.
