Just seen it in the news but BP evidently put out another 50,000 barrels of bad gas that is currently damaging the newer auto's fuel injection systems and causing cars to boog and die. They claim that the problem is only in Illinois but now reports several other places. I just know you guys that have worked so hard on carb's don't need any more problems.

Not sure if it's related, but when I was up in Bloomington last Saturday, XJfan1 told me they pumped a tank worth from a "Freedom" station and the bike died after 1/4 mile. Once they drained the fuel, it separated like half oil/half water. He said the stuff on the bottom appeared to be straight ethanol, as it burned very readily when tested. I wonder if "Freedom" gets their fuel from BP...

There are several articles on the WEB and what was stated was it may be that they sell gas to several other low end stations. For now I am sticking to Shell and 7/11 in my area because you don't know where it went. I just wanted to allert members so they would not take appart carbs and swap parts just because of bad gas. This stuff is supposedly bad because older cars just die from it.

Up here 7 Eleven is BP. BP is the gas and 7 Eleven is the store.
