Yep one of my first cars was a baby blue '63 Valiant with a 170 CID slant 6, three on the tree. There were many firsts that occured in that car.

Yep 63 has the the 225 slant 6. Doing a little research and found that there is stil alot of aftermarket for this motor. Plus the engine is very dependable

My Dad had a '64 Valiant with the push button automatic trans... and the lever right next to it was tthe parking brake... Dodge made their version the Barracuda which a HS buddy of mine drove around...think that was '65 or '66...

                Classic

Great car, my first car was a 62 Valiant with the 170 slant six, used to love setting those points. I think the Dodge version was the Lancer, the Barracuda was Plymouth's answer to the Mustang if memory serves me right it came out in 65, different sheet metal on a Valiant chassis with a 273 V8 engine available.

Those slant 6's with solid lifters run forever, or they throw a rod out the block behind the starter, what a blast from the past.

                      Madmax,
Funny you mention the push button transmision control.
My parents had a '61 Dodge Seneca that had the same rectangular button trans controller. The Seneca was a step down from the Dodge Polara.
Yeah, Phil.... Big blast from the past !!

My buddy was just working on a 64 valiant 2 door hardtop last spring. It had the slant 6 we kept talking about turboing it. Looked up a lot of sites that have done it. Seems like those slant six's were made for boost. I would imagine even boosted to 6 to 7 lbs it would still last forever.
