New Guy in town

Hello all. I just thought that I'd take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Andrew and I live in Northern Colorado. I formerly owned a 1983 Kawasaki 750 LTD. Sold that bike to buy and engagement ring three years ago.

Just this last weekend, I found an ad on craigslist for a "project bike". Turns out it was a 1980 XS1100G that has seen some changes. The price was right, so I bought it! The previous owner had decided to turn it into a bobber, so everything is stripped off and the seat frame has been cut down a bit. In the midst of the remodel, the fuse box caught fire and melted.

Right now, I'm in the process of putting it all back together, and I think that the fuse box is the only piece standing in the way of a running motorcycle. I was certainly glad to find these forums!

Welcome to the forum! On behalf of the site, thanks for saving yet another XS11 from being scrap. Forum member TopCatGR offers a nice replacement fuse box that converts the old crusty box (literally in your case) into a modern blade type for around $12. Look him up and send him a message. Almost any problem your project will throw at you has already been attempted wrong, mocked, then fixed properly and documented here at one time or another. So, before you committing any further heinous crimes to your project, take a browse/search here for tips. Good luck and post pictures.
