  • Why No Central Rally?

So ive been looking at the Rally pages and trying to figure out what ones if any i could swing, and then realised that there is not a central rally. Im from missouri and there is nothing close. Is there not enought members here to put together a rally? We have some good riding roads around here. Whats the deal? Would people come if one was arranged? Just putting some feelers out there to see how people react.

      GTXS1100,

Perhaps you should start an Ozark rally. You still have time for next year. As it stands, XS Southeast in September is probably closest to you. You should attend one so you know what people expect. Maybe we'll see you in Sept.

Many of the folks in this area are the heart of the .org site. You might check if they have anything planned. I know there was a stab at a Meeting Of The Minds (MOTM) rally in Texas, and that was where they usually aimed for each year in the past. Feel free to organize one for next year though! There are a few Midwesterners who would probably be able to make it, especially if you know of some good riding roads. I have yet to find any around me...
            1980 XS850SG - Sold
            1981 XS1100LH Midnight Special (Sold) - purchased 9/29/08
Fully Vetterized and Dynojet Kit added, Heated Grips, Truck-Lite LED headlight, Accel Coils, Irridium plugs, TKAT Fork Brace, XS850LH Final Drive & Black SS Brake lines from Chacal.
Here's my web page devoted to my bike! XS/XJ User's Manuals there, and the XJ1100 Service Manual and both XS1100 Service manuals (free download!).

                Hi GT,
As advised already. Attend one or two so you know what is expected of an XS rally. From my experience. XSEast is on the Memorial Day week end.
XSNorth is the 1st week end in July.
Under various names the now Iron Horse formerly TWO rally is in late September. Very few riders will go 1000 miles for a weekend a few riders will go 750 miles more will go 500 miles. Some won't even go 200 miles Other rallies in the NW.
so figure out when yours should be and start planning.

Head up to Wisconsin to the Lost Rally. I attended that one for the last 2 years and had a great time. It was at Cruisers place in Minnesota then but this year it's gonna be at Dragon Tamers place in Wisconsin. I can't make it this year because of work issues but really wish I could.

                  It's a great time.

If you got someting going in south western Mo or north western Ar that would be good. There is some really great riding there.

Your map does just catch Cincinnati. We have a group of XSers round here. WE typically have one or two group rides a year, will probably get something going for this fall.

From Cincinnati to Stecoah, NC is 325 miles, or probably less than six hours. You folks should be planning to come to the fall rally!

In my particular case, because I took my personal vacation time (from family) for XSEast. And I will have almost no vacationt iem left by then. Not counting it out 100% yet, but probably not going to make it. I have ot save up to hopefully make it to the Keys trip this year!!! That one is on my bucket list.

Actually, there is a good reason for no central rally. It's a long story and one I really don't want to tell again.

Maybe someone will fill you in since my version could be biased in some way.

It would be nice to get this region back into the fold.
