  • hello

first off i would like to thank everyone for the imensly valuble information on the xs11 bikes here. i came across your forums while on my quest to get my 81 xs11 midnight special road worthy. this place is a gold mine of tips and tricks. this bike is my first overhaul. its now on the road but still needs alot of love. i rescued it from abandonment last year. the original owner had left it to rot in his yard since 1983. i could not have gotten it to where it is now without the weath of information here. thanks to all

Congrats on your find, your rescue and your efforts!

We LOVE to see photos of bikes, rescues, etc.!!

Now, you need to NAME IT! The 81 MNS is one of the coolest looking versions IMHO...and what's cooler than

PERMAFROST being it was found in the great white north or such! JAT!

      Or BLACK ICE !

Anyways, there's a thread in the Members Lounge about Bike Nicknames, a simple search should reveal it. Might give you some ideas.

              Nice LH

I have one too that I just finished this spring, they do attract a crowd when you pull into a Tims. A bitch to keep clean though. Nice work. What unit you retire from?

                      Gold

Ya, I spent close to year going around to different places before I found the right guy. Mine is hybrid of 10k gold and brass. I have another batch of stuff to take to him this fall. If you want to send me your air box sides and head light ring, I'll include them in my order. The guy I use is a mom and pop shop in Ottawa.
