Why would a person want to go to all the trouble and expense to even try, when those have such a high failure rate? BTW, there IS an exact science as to why the different lengths of different shaft swing-arm housings on the different makes of bikes. They are not just thrown on there willy-nilly. Some of that science has to do with 'climb' rate under torque load and how it affects handleing, specificly under loads out of corners amongst a whole host of other forces and reactions, besides frame configuration(double down-tube or twin-spar).
