The San Diego Auto Museum is having it's annual Motorcycles in the Park show until Feb. 23rd. I have been to the last two and they have always had a good selection of all kinds of bikes-though not an XS11 yet.
Hi Big Pat, I lived here in sd county for twenty years and didnt know about the show. Hopefully you have a nice xs for the show, I have an xj in decent shape but not show worthy. If you go maybe update the group if any xs or xj's show up...thanks for the heads up.

Most of the japanese bikes in the show are in original condition, a few are customized and look like they will never be ridden again. I am sorry to say my 11 special needs a little restoring before it would make it in the show. My bike came from the Encinitas {beach weather} and was donated to a church group where I picked it up. If you decide to go to the show you can pick up a museum discount at any Robinson-May store for half off admisson at any San Diego museum this month.
I have been on the road the last two weeks and did not pick up your post till today, the 26th. My '81 XS11 is in very nice condition. I would have loved to have ridden it to the show. I live in East County.
The annual {12th this year} "Motorcycles in the Park" is held around the first of the year. Your can find out information on the websites of San Diego Auto Museum or the San Diego Antique Motorcycle Club. The San Diego Antigue Motorcyle Club site has a lot of interesting information and links. They have an article on Don Vesco's world speed records.
I had planned to go to this years show but I did not make it. As I said earlier I have yet to see an XS11 there-maybe yours will be the first next year?
