I hate to ruin the clean lines but I'm going to put on a fairing and a rack and trunk if I can find em. Also a grab rail.. Anybody know if a rail of a standard will fit a special?

          Lee, nice looking bike.
You're half way there to a name. You called it: "her"
Nice pretty blue, If you're going with the bags and fairing, then that should reflect in her name too.
You know, something that says: I'm beautiful, but I can hang in for the long haul.
Maybe the bags and fairing colors may help steer the naming too.

              Hay Steve,
Anything about these old bikes yoou dont know? Thanks a lot.. Wonder if there would be a market, if when I get my fiaring and mount, I took the mount to a fabricator I know to have a few made.. Seems there are a lot of fairings around but not many mounts..

Nice bike, Sparks! eBay is your friend for fairing brackets. There are a few cycle re-cycle yards around that might have a set too. Fairings and bags are good. I like 'em on mine.

Nice bike, Sparks! Looks like a proper motorbike. My hairdresser decided he would do a refresher training course before riding a bike (after a break of 10 years). He was knocked off it, from behind, by a lorry on his very first ride!! He gave up completely, immediately. What a shame but understandable.

I bought mine after a break of 12 years and spent a week sitting on it in the garden to get used to the weight again. Then did a few short runs near my house and gradually got in the groove. I think it's the best way.
XS1100F 1980 European model. Standard. Dyna coils. Iridium plugs. XS750 final drive (sometimes). Micron fork brace. Progressive front springs. Geezer regulator/rectifier. Stainless 4 into 2 exhaust. Auto CCT (Venturer 1300) SOLD. New project now on the go. 1980 European model.

Thanks James.. Well, the course is not an option here if I want peace at home. It's been 20 years, I think, since last I rode. The course cant hurt. I do agree that a few short runs would work just fine but.... I have to live with my family.. I have been sitting on the bike in the garage.. Seems sort of wierd.. Was thinking of closing the garage door so neighbors wouldn see but that would be even stranger.. At least I dont sit there making "motorcycle noises"..
