  • XS Anonymous may be needed!

Picked up another 78E today for $500. If I include my stepsons (which will soon be mine), I have 11--- 11's.
The newest addition has an XJ motor in it. It was swapped in because of the second gear issue. Now it has the issue again but in first gear but thanks to the site and its members I know how to fix that.
It has fuel issues which will be float needles as the PO did not know the bike well and left it on prime all the time. He parked it when he found he had gas leaking so I hope there is no damage to the motor from gas in oil but time will tell.
I also met a guy who had sold his XS11 and he offered me his old parts for free. I ended up with a motor without a head, some wheels, forks and brace, and a beautiful set of stock exhaust. They need to be cleaned up for a better inspection but they only show 2 tiny dings and some surface rust on the bottom of the collctors.
Here are some pics for you to check out.

    2-79 XS1100 SF
    2-78 XS1100 E Best bike Ever
80 XS 1100 SG Big bore kit but not fully running yet.
Couple of more parts bikes of which 2 more will live!

    Sweet......engine problems or not.

That looks like a Venturer or special exhaust and a XJ front wheel you got in spare parts.

I sold my XJ this past weekend. So now I am out of danger of having too many bikes. Well... I am trading a holiday camper for another 79SF so maybe not completely out of the woods yet.

                        Just keep saying to yourself,

That just could not be bought here in the UK for that price. Absolutely no way. It would be at least 3 times what you paid and most probably a lot more.

I am really envious! I'm looking for an XS1100 restoration project and that bike would be ideal, especially at that price.
