  • displacement wars

i just read an article on the new kaw vulcan2000, it looks like the displacement wars are healthy and back on track. so much for the vtx1800 being top of the heap. whats next an oppossing 8 in the goldwing? i was pondering what its going to take for my xj to keep up with these monster hulks on the highway. my solution, anyone know a cheap source for dylithium crystals?

Just do like the Harley guys and stuff a big block chevy into the frame. A supercharged 502 should smoke the back tire nicely. Then there's the Tomahawk with the Viper V10 engine. Or the jet bike that Jay Leno rides.

      Ahhhhh..... the need for speed.

Go for touring/towing torque and go with the diesel engine out of a Peterbilt or Mack Truck. That should provide some off idle OOMPF .

        diesel

now theres a thought a small fuel efficient turbo diesel 2 cylinder in a motorcycle. just think what a launch you could accomplish by power braking and building up the diesel's torque.

"...what its going to take for my xj to keep up with these monster ..."

Pass them at the pumps (unless you have a Special! ) or lose them in the sweepers.

            Dang it's snowing again.

                another kaw

saw another add in this months car and driver for the new z900 kaw. it claimed 900cc with 186 hp and weighing in at only 375. sounds more like a coffin on wheels than a cycle. i wonder if they issue organ donor cards free with every purchase.
