  • Member Locations (Where are you?)

In case you didn't already know, under the members forum, there's a sub forum (at the VERY TOP) that has member locations, so you can register with fellow XSives in your region of the country.
Someone has also put together a map in ZeeMaps here: http://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=153721#
I just spent 30mins going thru the VA/WV, NC/SC, MD/DE lists and updated the map to see how far away each of you guys were from me.
WOW, I bet you guys didn't even know that there ar at least 10 of you within 1-1.5hrs of DC.

There are over 7,000 members register on this site. (now, I know not all of those are active users, but even if a third of them are, where are you all located?)
There's like 500 posts in the Member Locations forum thread and only 176 entries on the map, (15, I put in myself for some of you)
If I knew how close some of you are, then I can offer assistance or at least some XSive friendship. (maybe even a group ride)

    'Guests'

One thing I've noticed almost every time I get on the site is there's always more 'guests' then there are members on the site.
Why don't they register and get on here?
If they're 'browsing' the site, then they've obviously got an XS11 or are interested in getting one, or had one in the past, etc.
Why not log in and contribute, or ask the direct question that they're trying to search for.

This site is PRICELESS. It has help countless XS owners help keep these bike running. I know I usually learn something new about these bike every week thanks to you guys (and gals).
So, to all you 'guests', log in and join in the fun/obsession that is XSively contagious!

I set up the map, hope it comes in handy for you.
Lurkers (those folks that hang around but don't register or post) are a fact on every site. The registration is a necessary bar to entry due to spammers, and it keeps a lot of folks from posting. This isn't always a bad thing, as it does cut down on the signal to noise ratio a little bit.

Anyone with a question they can't answer via search will probably sign up and post.

Thanks Mike (Fix) for the ZeeMap. That thing is awesome.
I made the comment about the 'lurkers', hoping that more of them would get registered and thus show us where they are located.
It's nice to hang out/communicate with fellow XSives.
We all know what each other has gone thru with trying to keep these bikes on the road.
When I first logged in to this site, I thought I was all alone down here in SE VA.
When I found out that TopCatGr58 was 18 miles away, I thought AWESOME, a fellow XSive/Guru local that I can pick his brain about my bike!

Then just this year, 2 more popped up on the radar and now there's 4 of us here locally. I just know there's probalby a couple more XS/XJ bikes around here somewhere, maybe, someday they'll show up on the site.

I wanted to bump this thread up a bit. I think the Zeemaps is a great tool for us to help find each other.
