  • Check Bonneville off my list :)

Well. I finally made it out to the Bonneville Salt Flats. Been trying to get out there for quite a while. Was quite the ride. About 300 miles of pretty monotonous scenery. Good ol’ XS ran fine. Didn't switch to reserve quite fast enough so the bike died on the way back. Was a pretty close call gettin gas. Fuel light came on at 101 miles died at 108 filled up at 118. Was well worth it though. I elected to no wear my leather jacket. Was nice and cool. But it cost me a slight sunburn

Beautiful pics, thanks for sharing. My parents took us kids out there in the mid 70's, on the way to California. I will take my kids out there in a few years.

Yup. 75 miles of straight road. We came from Salt Lake area. Not sure what the grips are. They came on the bike when I bought it. They are kinda like a foam. Not really squishy foam but that kind of look and feel.

I ran a little bit on the salt. It had just rained when we got there so there were a few puddles. I ran just not very fast, far, or long. My dad and brother didnt want to play on the salt at all. We had to really convince my dad just to get him to take his bike on the flats for pictures.

              It was fun though
