Are you guys talking about full coverage, or just liability? All I pay here with Dairyland is about $75 US a year for liability. Full coverage isn't worth the money, because the book value of an old XS is less than what the insurance premium is.

              Basic

Just basic insurance to make me legal, PL@PD,They wont give you anything if you wrote it off so why bother with full coverage on a 20 yr old bike...........................MITCH

My XS has been $75 per year liability only with Progressive since I bought it. When I added the Venture, collision and comprehensive included, it amounts to $265 per year covering both. Course around here a year of riding is only 6 months long, but the Venture is covered while in storage.

Hmmm. I went to their website to try an on-line quote. Got an error message saying "no such model and year" when I entered Yamaha 1978!

I didn't go on-line to check prices when I got the XS, I went to a local independent agent. He could compare the rates from all the companies he represents, Progressive was the best. Now I get a bill in the mail each spring. I can give him the payment or send it by mail or pay on-line.

Well, I suppose it is because I am still on a M2 license that I pay more, but my 79SF is 679$ (last year) for just the basic liabilities. I have no idea what it will be this year.. the Ontario gov'ts sabre-waving during the election gave the Ins. co.s enough reason to raise all their rates to 'XS' ively high premiums.
I don't know how you fellers in the USofA get the low rates (here and on other Boards I read),must be a lot more competitive there.

I don't know what the rates are like in NB Mitch, but they are pretty high here too. I don't know if I will be renewing mine this summer or not.

Take care all, ride safe (those that can right now)
