I was wondering where the Bob Jones reference came from...but I am too afraid of you to point things like that out Greg

Seems to idle at a pretty high speed in the vid and the turn signal light being on steadily would indicate some kind of electrical issue as well.

I do not know if it is a turbo thing or what but the pipes are many colors as well. From blue to gold from what I see in the vid.

Ok my buddy who has a Turbo on his XS11 just got back to me. It would seem that I was in error earlier as the turbo'ed units do require higher idle speed as well as do discolored pipes.
I will quote him with " Neat stuff Doug, nice looking bike. My turbo kit (Blake) also suggested to raise the idle to 1500 to 2000 RPM. The pipes on mine changed color also but so did some of the early/stock/standards that came to Canada. One of the designers of the excess 11s from Japan came by the shop in Red Deer one day along with a translator to talk about this problem. He gave me two sets of needles for the carbs in case we encountered a bad one. Jesus another flashback.LOL
If you bug me enough, and I have time in July or August we'll get the old girl fired up and you can take it for a spin. That would be kinda fun!"
I would love to take his ride for a spin let me tell you!

Wow...I am still just amazed that you could get a turbo kit for these bikes back then...I mean, when it came out, wasn't it already one of the fastest bikes on the market?

Best thing is that he was the guy who put my bike together from the crate and he is a friend of mine. He has forgot more than I will ever know about my bike. Imagine being able to talk to an actual yamaha engineer (even thru a translator) while learning the ins and outs of these bikes.
