  • Crash bars

I have been asked by some about my crash bars and I wondered if there was enough interest here to have some made...

If there is I will get some quotes. I figure on making them super tough as these are, like molydenim steel or maybe 4130 like truck axles.

No chance of them bending though! Could go with a thinner stock to offset the weight.

            Solid?

They aren't solid. They're tube, but VERY STRONG. If you look closely on the other side you can see where they saved my leg, and at the same time took the left rear quarter panel off a Mercedes and even bent the bumper. Bent the bars some, but with the help of a friend, a 20 ton press and a torch we were able to get it straight again. I plan on duplicating the existing strength of this set if I have them made.

One additional plus is that these bars make it much easier to right the XS when it falls down. With the addition of my saddle bags, with a 4130 mounting system and the steel rails it is really much easier to pick her up leaving no damage.

Am I Seeing What I Think I See

Do you also have a set of 2 point engine guards mounted behind these
with your hi-way pegs mounted to???

                Guards

There are two point guards also, but the pegs are mounted on the crash bars.

                  Interest

There seems to be some interest, but nobody seems interested enough to actually want them. Kinda like the bullet proof windshields for the Vetter fairings.

I have interest, but like Nate, it would be price dependant. Awesome looking guards though.

I was looking for possible interest before I went out to see different shops for quotes. I didn't want to do all the leg work if there was no interest.
