the LH would draw a crowd wasn't kidding. Took it for a a 151 mile ride today and stopped at a Tim Hortons for a coffee just a little over half way. Had to be 75 bikes of all variety parked there. I pulled up to the end of the line and went in to grab a coffee. The friggin place emptied out while I was waiting and everyone gathered around my bike. Bikers, truckers, biker chicks, trucker chicks and several old guys (older than me). When I walked out, I didn't know if I was going to need to find a tire iron or not. After a about an hour of stories about previous XS ownership stories and sorrows of getting rid of them, I was finally able to get back on and complete my ride. Man this could be a curse. Anyway, that 85 MPH speedo has to go. How ridiculous is that. SEE PARTS WANTED POST.

Just think if you'd come back out and found the scenario of a large group of "bikers" and they had your pride and joy on it's side and were beating the stuffing out it (I'm sure most people have seen one of those old videos of a "biker rally" where everyone was taking turns with a sledgehammer until the said bike was nothing but a mere piece of scrap and hardly recognizable...)
Now THAT would be a nightmare you'd never want to live thru...
Thankfully, in this day and age, that scenario would be very rare to see, unless you happened on the said group of bikers in a secluded spot where the party had been going on for several hours and there wouldn't be any witnesses except for the poor owner who would be helpless unless he also wanted to go down with his bike...
BTW...you've got a couple of killer looking bikes there and I'd prolly go down with the bike if I were in that situation

      No danger

I was in no danger of anything like that. A side from one trike, they looked like harleys or harley knock off's. While a number knew the XS well, the bulk of people just hadn't seen an in line four in years and a lot of the discussion revolved around the different styling and suspensions. Must have been a club of some sort. All around my age, truckers were a bit older. It was fun.
