  • Selling question

I'm in the process of trying to sell my FZ1. I have a guy interested from Moscow of all places. He first asked my to get some info about shipping but I told him it was better if he handled all of that part of the deal. Then this morning he says, no problem, he had one shipped from Atlanta (GA) but for this one he'd probably go through New York. Personally I'd be looking in Europe somewhere but who knows. Anyway, he asked for more pictures and a copy of my title. bla, bla, bla. I understand any purchaser's concerns, but a copy of the title, not just the VIN, if he wanted to do a check on the vehicle. It just all sounds a little fishy to me. What do you guys think?

      Hi 'rider,
suggest that your alleged customer send someone to your place to inspect the bike and pay you cash money for it. If he won't go for that, find another customer.

Spell it with me boys and girls....S-C-A-M...SCAM!. Maybe not, but alot of that sounds pretty questionable at best to me. I would never send the copy of your title though. My best guess, and yes, I am a true pessimist if ever there was one, is that the guy is from around your town, wants to see the title to get all your pertinent information and then go to the DMV and have them make a duplicate and then come steal the bike since he will then have your address as well. By claiming to be from across the big ass pond, he does nto need to come and let you see what he looks like. And no, I never did that type of stuff for a living.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck....well...it probably is a duck.

I've still got (phony) money orders fo $3000 from someone in Spain who said he wanted to buy a van I had for sale.

He tried to get me to deposit them in my account and send part of the money to an address in the US to a shipper.

Yeah right. Had the money orders checked out and they were counterfiet.

He may be after other info about you and the bike is just a vehicle.
