Some of those folks have no clue about what they have when they part a bike out. Some of them will reply to questions some wont. Best thing is to check their feedack.
I have only had problems with one. He took my $$$ and closed shop.
Georgefix is great for new parts. He's the only one i use for brake parts, carb parts, things like that."If A equals success, then the formula is: A = X + Y + Z. X is work. Y is play. Z is keep your mouth shut." - Albert Einstein

Pinwall is one that I had some problems with. Bought headlight ears that wer elisted as XS11, but reality they were from an XJ11. Noticed they had an entire bike parted out and listed everything as XS11, but it was an XJ. When I informed them about it and gave them the VIN to check and part nos to look at on the TCI and such, they refused to change their listings of the parts.
Only decent I will say is that they fully refunded me for the wrong parts. But I have seen them repeat this problem several times now. So they clearly have no clue what they are doing other than getting bikes, breaking them down and selling the parts.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

I never count on the seller knowing what's what with used parts; new yes, but not used. Your best bet is to always do your research before bidding. One upside to mis-identified parts is sometimes you can get a screaming deal because the people who may really want it don't find it...Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

+1 on the screaming deals. I got great deals from pinwall cycle on a set of XJ shock and front pegs cause they had them marked as XS ones. I also got a great deal from someone else on my Vetter trunk cause the guy had it marked as a Goldwing trunk instead of a Vetter, and the Vetter trunks go usually fairly dear and fast, I got it cheap and it had been sitting there for a while, so I got a really good deal. So if YOU know enough to know what the part is when you look at the pictures, you can make a good deal, but it can be an issue at times, especially if the item sent isn't the same as what's pictured, as happened to me with a pair of brake pads, however the guy made it right, and didn't even ask me to send the wrong ones back (I did send a pic of the wrong ones and the box they came in to him), and he even overnighted the replacement ones to me, I figure he lost money on the deal, but ended up with a customer who gave good feedback and who would recommend him.Cy

Oh I agree on the good deal, but if someone tries to help YOU out with what YOU are selling don't be a douch about it!
Unless it were an AMAZING deal and I was desperate I would not deal with pinwall.Nathan

+1 Nate! Two wrongs don't make a right. Why would want to be part of the problem? Hey Laurier. I would check into that before bidding as it looks to be the header only. Can be a crapshoot finding mufflers to fit etc.
I have had good service and prices from Pinwall and I do take advantage of the wrongly marked parts. Not supporting douchebaggery at all in my mind as the whole buyer beware thing rules. If one does not inquire and know what he/she is buying then oooopsie to bad so sad.2-79 XS1100 SF
