THE Greatest Generation of ALL Time

IMHO this was the "greatest generation" of all time and saved the world from a much darker fate...
Last report was that more than 700 WWII Vets are passing everyday
    Thanks for posting...

          Great pictures.

Residing here in the New Orleans area where the National WWII Museum is means I am living in sin since I have never visited the museum. I will be doing that soon and it will be a priviledge to meet a few of the WWII vets that are greeters there.

As great a generation as they are, let us never forget those heroes that came before and after them.

The P-47 was affectionately nicknamed the "Jug". So many cool and different aircraft designs in WWII. So much bravery, heroism, and loss throughout the world in those years.

The thing I think about when I look at these is these people were in their 20s and 30s when the pics were taken. That would make some over 100 now if they are still around.

              The greatest generation.

Nice find Greg, after seeing these pic's,,,,really makes you think, what could have been. I'm a bit of a wwII nut and these boy's went threw hell. My dad is 84, and he tells me some stories about the war and I know he was only in the merchant marines doing supplies, but his ship got sunk, lucky for us and him,he made it out,but other's weren't so lucky.

My post was not meant to take away from any other generation,
my point being that IF it weren't for the WWII Generation, we might ALL be eating sauerkraut with chop sticks!!!
And being a VET, I know FREEDOM doesn't come cheap
With all due respect to all VETS past and future that allow us to able to do the things we do freely
