Welcome Padre,
I haven't seen any other XS's in my area either. I have however, ran accross two gentleman who claim to have one.
Greg, Summersville, W.V.
1980 XS1100-G
Checking a few online sources, it looks like Miramachi is near Newcastle... yes? That's only about 4 hours from me in Caribou, Maine, and about the same from Mark and Bruce in Halifax. Hmm... This could be the start of a get together!
Like Bruce said, we both live in NS. There are other XS1100 oxners here but they do not subscribe to the list. Bruce and I do meet them once and awhile in Bedford on Thursday nights at Arby's.
I own a very rare 1984 XJ1100. The XJ1100 was only available as an 1982 model in the USA. There are a couple of XJ1100 that come to Arby's but they are both 1982 models, so a 1984 is rare even in Canada.
Bruce has a 1978 XS1100 and since his is the beginning of these bikes and mine is the end of these bikes, we named our bikes Alpha and Omega; the Begining and the End.
What bike do you have? You should consider the Owl's Head Museum rally, see the thread on Eastern Rallies.
Cheers,
Mark Robertson,
