  • Grampa to be...soon!

I am in the "Big Apple," where my daughter is due to deliver my first grand son. In the mean time, I am having a ball getting guided tours of N.Y., Long Island, etc. When I get more time I'll fill in the "etcetera's." But now, off to another musium!

Old bikers never die, they're just out of sight!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
    I've been riding since 1959.

    Congrats Ed. Have fun.

The good thing about grandkids is when you grow weary of entertaining and taking care of them you can send them home. I have 4

And congratulations to you too, my brothah.
While I await the arrival of Mica, (yes he is already named,) I am taking in all of the tourist sites: the Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Natural History, etc. Of course I could easily spend several days in any one of those. Today we took in the Chinese New Year Parade in (where else,) China Town. Tomorrow Greenwich Village: unless of course the baby be born.
The highlight of the trip, actually, was visiting my recently widowed mother-in-law on the northern tip of long island in Orient. My late fater-in-law, Robert Berks, is a Rather famous monument builder. One of his crowning achievements, just one, was his monument to Einstein which was featured in the opening of the children’s program “Sesame Street,” which depicts children playing on the lap of the monument to Einstein. Berks is actually the only artist that Einstein “sat” for.
Brandise, J.F.K., Robert Kennedy, Sinatra, Truman, Schwartzinegar, more famous names than I can remember, looked down upon me as I walked through his studio: all subjects of his talent and unique style. Photographs of his work have appeared no less than four times on the cover of Time Magazine for the “Man of the Year” award.
I’m not bragging. I had nothing to do with it: I’m just saying I feel really priviledged to be so closely associated to such amazing talent.
