Who made that particular version? Looks like they couldn't quite make up their mind which year/model to scale, as you've got 'standard' exhaust and taillight, '80 slotted rotors, and a XJ-like black airbox....

You know Steve, we are WAY To anal-retentive. At first I started noticing that type of stuff, the standard exhaust anyway. Then I thought, its a frickin model, and it is dang life like at that!! For all the stuff they got right and level of detail in it, it is way cool even if they did cross a few things over.

It's made by Guiloy...maybe it's the Japanese model not for import to the USA
The pic on the box shows a color combo I've never seen.
The one thing I did like is that it looks close to the 79 Special and it has the
optional "LTD' type seat I bought for my 79 when it was new upon delivery at dealer
And it came with the clear shield and bags which I removed for originality to stock

Ok, they didn't sell it as a '79; it's supposed to be a '80 MNS. flash a little slow so I'm going to check the ground and maybe apply
some dielectric grease to all the connectors and see if that helps...

Well at least the model actually LOOKS a little like an MNS (except for the chrome exhaust and such, but at least it's a black bike). TV, I'm pretty sure he means that the signals are on the tag bracket instead of further forward below the seat like on a stock bike. It makes it look a little funky having them back there without the saddlebags.My Special is as old as I am.Comment

I'd say it's cool no matter how far it strays from the exact reproduction of the model it's supposed to represent. Unless a person buys a model that is actually put together piece by piece, there will be departures from a real vehicle.Can't beat the smell of gas & oilComment

little jewel for about 3 or 4 times what you can for the one I posted.
I just remembered that I had it in the closet (for about 4 yrs) and drug it out for a look-see

Chill...we're just having a little "fun" picking on the company that made that model....that they apparently didn't do proper research when they developed that one!
Walker, that's a great price...the last time I looked for that model all I found was for over $300.00 ! I wonder if it's NOS or if Tamiya did another production run?? I have an 81 Special, and I think the MNS is one of the sexiest looking XS11's there are...STOCK. Think I'll bookmark that page/link!
