    Irvine - what to do

    OK you left coasters, I am here in Irvine. Never been west of Dallas before, and have all late afternoon and evening to kill. Any suggestions? I am thinking LA is out of the picture, I hate driving Chicago let alone LA.

    Anyway, stuck on four wheels, but interested in not spending the time staring at the hotel room walls.

    Wow, I just rode through Irvine yesterday for a quick day trip to San Diego and back to drop off a couple of fairing parts for Garth and JWHughes.

    Columbo's getting a little long in the tooth, the engine's getting noisy and the clutch is starting to slip but I can make another run down south. I have no idea what's going on in Irvine though and I try to avoid Los Angeles entirely except when I have to ride through it to go somewhere else.

      If you want to drive a bit, Universal CityWalk is kinda fun, and there's the LaBrea Tar Pits. Both are about an hour North of Irvine, along the 5 fwy. For something a bit more sobering, the Museum of Tolerance on West Pico Blvd is a very interesting place to visit.

        Steelhead Micro Brewery in Irvine could be fun. Or Disneyland is just up the road in Anaheim.

          Yeah, sorry, but I'm a good bit north of that area. And thanks to Greg, now my reed switch in my speedometer has gone intermittent. So now I gotta find the post by whomever it was that found the suitable replacement so I can get a replacement and put a new one in there. But it's all Greg's fault, if he hadn't got me thinking about it being able to fail, it would have kept working .

          But if anybody happens to come through the central valley area, I'm generally free on fridays these days. And I'm always up for a ride unless it's raining or something really bad like that.

            Looks like a client dinner meeting trip. Thanks for the Ideas. Next trip will be to San Fran area in about Feb.
