  • Last Ride

Went for my last ride today and almost froze my b.lls off. Went to see an E but the guy wanted 3 grand for it. It just came out of the shop from a carb cleaning and a tune up. It started right up and looked in good shape but 3 K was about twice what I could pay and still sleep at night. it would have cost me another grand to upgrade the brakes, fork brace and geezers regulator. When I made my offer he said," well it can sit for another ten years", ( he has 3 other riders) I said they like to be ridden and ridden hard. He had the original touring package but threw that in the dump last year cuz he didn't like it and it was taking up space in his garage! If it had still been on the bike I might have come up. Rode home, parked Hermes and jumped right in a hot shower. Now my riding seasons over, I can start putting the LH back together.

    Sorry Mack,
We're having a great weekend in the midwest.
Mid 60's. You can even wear leather to ride instead of a t shirt!

Yep, got out for an hour or so today myself. Leather jacket on, but no liner and no other cold weather gear, felt great. Hopefully we can still get a good rode or ten in this year before the white stuff starts flying.

            day after

The day after I put him up was warmer but I was fully engaged with pumping surplus rain water off the top of the pool cover and watching football. It's going down to single digits this week with freezing temps over night. I sometimes envy our southern brothers, but, we don't have hurricanes, tornado's, alligators and it doesn't rain snakes up here so I figure if a shorter riding season is the sacrifice, I'll make it. Seriously looking for an E with the touring package or I might even go for a new batcycle for spring and fall riding. Something big and bright enough that the caged blue hairs will think it's Las Vegas on wheels. They should notice something like that at intersections.

                      coming sort of

Got the motor in the frame and started assembly but hurt my back so I've been taking it easy and riding the couch for the last couple weeks. I was thinking about going to the bike show, but thats too far in advance to make definate plans. Close to xmas shopping, teenagers last minute requirements, two birthdays and an anniversary are all in that time frame. What day are you guys going and where and when will you meet?
