    Greyhound tips?

    I am negotiating with a guy on a fairing..hoping to get him to ship via Greyhound as I have heard its affordable. I will call Greyhound monday but hoped to gain if someone has done it before?

    Packing tips, besides removing lowers and screen?

    Will they insure for loss?

    Did yours come thru ok?

        fairing by greyhound worked for me

        arrived in good shape - windshield removed , double or triple wall cardboard.. the kind of cardboard that has a kind of waxy feeling surface. the outer box had crushed corners, but internal separators and stiffening prevented damage...

          I had a seat shipped to me by someone on xs11.com but forgot who.
          Came to me in good shape. At the time it was the lowest price. I don’t know about insurance because I didn’t ask for any.
          Got a quote last month that was higher than the post office so I passed on that time.

            yeah, I just bought a stock exhaust and the post office was cheaper by a little bit.

              I've used greyhound for shipping car parts a lot. Last I shipped front seat for a mustang project. Came quick! It also had some plastic trim pieces and they were fine.

                I purchased a Pacifico fairing from a gentleman in Virginia about 2 years ago that was shipped by Greyhound. It came through without any damage. The cost to him was about $70. There was a rectangular hole in the side of the box that looked like a fork lift tine, but it caused no damage. WMADDOX3 described the best shipping box yet. Build one like that.

                PS I had a thought (that may amuse many of you). Put the item in a box with packing around it and then put that in a larger box. Pack the space between them with a high density foam.

                  I have sent and received fairing shipped by Greydog. Very quick from FL to CA (2 days) and cost the guy $48 as I recall. I Shipped one to OK for $28/ Both times packaging was minimal, winshield removed and mounts all taped inside. Great service.
