What sort of shops would sell Ultra Sonic Cleaning Solutions?

I'm hoping for places where i can walk in and buy it. I have never seen it in any of the shops I have been in but then again I have not be looking for it.

Are there different types for different uses or is it all the same?
Do parts that go into the cleaner have to be cleaned of grease and or oils first or do you just put your parts in the solution?

Don't know about the store bought stuff but if you are going after the carbs try a mix of Simple Green and Dawn dishwashing soap.
Proportions should be fairly precise...About three or four glugs of Simple Green and about a three to four second squirt of Dawn soap. Top off with warm dihydrogen oxide. H2O
Worked like a champ on the carbs.

If you are going to clean small tools you might want to stop by your local Vet office. There is a powdered soap that our vet uses that cleans and lubricates small tools such as needle holders and scissors. If you take a small pill bottle with you, you might be able to talk them out of a small amount.

I hosed the worst off with Gumout. Everything else will come off when the shaking starts. You can hit the worst with an old toothbrush once in a while as things go and that really helps too.

Yes I'm going after those carbs and all the other carbs I have as well. I got a 3 liter unit with a basket that is 8.75 X 4 X 4.75 inches so it should take 2 carbs at a time laid on their sides.
So, I don't have to buy a pre-mixed solution? I can make up my own as you described. That would be a good deal because the premixed solutions run about 40 to 48 bucks a gallon.

I would give it a try.

I just used fairly warm water to start in the mix of soap and Green. I'm not saying that there isn't something better out there but this is about as innocuous as it gets to the skin.

I thought I had the carbs pretty clean until I hit the switch on that cleaner. The crud came out of everywhere. I really was surprised how dirty they were. Thought I did a pretty good job up until then.

My carbs were pretty dirty with lacquer in the bowls and the few sprays of Gumout through the passages and the 1" paintbrush and a bit of lacquer thiner cleared that right up. The Simple Green and the Dawn soap worked fine. For me. Just dont run it too long. You can get it pretty hot in there and the machine will get very hot. DAMHIK

I am sure there is better stuff out there, but your gonna pay for it. I have often thought about using Yamaha's new dip stuff (the stuff you can use without dissassembly). If it works as good as I have heard, it would be awesome in the USC.

I would imagine you would still need to take the jets out and things like that, but no need to take the butterfly shaft and all that out.

So the jets and all you would let soak in carb cleaner as usual, but the other stuff just flush through ... i might have to be a lazy ass and check that out.
