  • Some Recognition...

Upon getting back from lunch, I followed the brother of the CEO of the company I work for into the parking lot. He was driving his newly acquired 08 Austin Martin. It’s silver in color and a very nice looking car. I pull in to a stall next to an R6 (only 3 of us in the company ride bikes on a regular basis and all ride Yamahas). I shut the bike down and dismount to head into the building. The owner comes up to me pretty excitedly and says “That’s an XS1100!!?” as if in disbelief that any exist anymore not to mention on the road. I was surprised that he recognized the bike, I was on my son’s bike which has no badges on it to tell the uneducated person what it is (A po had taken all the badges off to do a custom paint job). He started reminiscing about working in a Yamaha dealership as a teenager when the first XS1100 came out. He would be the one to pull them out of the crate and get them ready for the show room. He never bought one but said that he wished he had.

Tell him you will trade for the Austin Martin. Especially if its a Vanquish.

I don't think he was THAT excited about the bike. But I did think about it. (Do ya think my son would have missed his bike?)

Austin, Aston It only makes a difference if you get to drive one...which sadly I don't get to do. (Spell check does not catch the use of wrong words )

One means you are cramped and going slow and the other doesn't.
