It has been hot. We have had about 8 fires in our county this weekend and another today. But we are good, Thanks for asking.

      An X Tex also concerned

I have been following the news regarding the wildfires. My heart goes out to my fellow Texans. My family moved to Lubbock in 1952. I remember living through one of those sand storms: I can't remember the technical / African name for it, but a tumbling hurricane force wall of dust and sand...
The fires around Austin are horrible. This isn't the wide open prairie, this is a highly populated area. At least a thousand homes have been lost. I hope your home hasn't been one of them!

Old bikers never die, they're just out of sight!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
      I've been riding since 1959.

but fires up around camp bullis and camp stanley (heard an ammo bunker went up in the fire) and out in bastrop is the worst...

nothing in town, though my yard is dry tinder for sure.
