    4th Annual Christmas Poem....

    11.com

T’was the night before Christmas, and all through the land
XS 11s were sitting on their center stands.
Some were in storage, some resting from trips
Many were getting some new parts and bits.

Here in Colorado my XJ was snug,
Out of the snow in a storage barn’s hug.
Out of the wind, and out of the snow
Waiting for another spring ride don’t you know.

My wife in her kerchief and me in my hat
Had just settled in for a long winter’s nap.
When out in the yard there arose such a clatter
I jumped from my bed to see what was the matter!

I jumped from my bed and ran like a flash
To the nearest window, and threw open the sash
That was a mistake I quickly knew
As my fingers and nose began to turn blue.

But out in the yard he was sitting there
With a sleigh full of toys and 8 tiny reindeer
Old Santa himself had come our way
He says to me, “Come out and play!”

“Go get your old XJ, and let’s have some fun.
“Fire it up and let’s go for a run!”
So I grabbed my warm coat, and helmet and gloves
Unpacked the old XJ, gave the choke a shove

She fired right up and away we did ride
Santa with me and his sleigh along side
We were laughing and singing old Christmas songs
Rudolph and his red nose leading us along

To quickly it ended, Santa had to be away
(He had much to do before the next day)
But I asked him to explain, ignoring the cold’s sting
Why he took the time for this evening’s fling

“Christmas”, he said,” Is about people, not things.
“Interaction with others and the satisfaction it brings.
“Your XS-dot-com is a great bunch of folks
“Giving humor, advice, parts and even hope.”

“At times you have squabbles, as all people do,
“But if the whole world took their cue from you
“With your respect and assistance, cooperation and fun
“This word would be a lot better run.”

“I enjoy meeting XSives, whom I have found
“Practice Christmas-time values the entire year round.
“You know when to party, you know when to aid
“And it doesn’t hurt you ride the best bike ever made!”

He climbed into his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And off they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, as he rode out of sight
“Merry Christmas, XSives, and have a good night!”
