Headlight Relay Vs. Bad alternator

I recently was hit in the rearend on my scoot. After recovering. I put my bike back together. I could not get the headlight to work so, I jumped the blue and Red wires at the headlight relay. This caused the headlight to work but, my battery runs down. For anyone that knows the answer to my problem????? Alternator Bad-----Relay bad? What is my problem? rwtrail
