Alright heres the deal. I have never been a chrome type of guy, but the time is coming to get something special done on my bike. It's a POW MIA tribute bike that will have black 15" apes on it. What I want to do is wrap the bars with chromed barb wire....now how do I do that? If I get the strands chromed will I be able to manipulate them around the bars or will it crack and damage the chrome, or will it be too hard to bend? My other option is to run the strands from bar to bar (death trap). lol any insight would be great! You all make this stuff look so dang easy!

Just as long as you never hit your head or anything else on the bars....
You wouldnt be able to bend the chromed wire around the bars. Chromed items need to be in their final shape before the chrome is layed on. The chrome is pretty brittle and it will crack and flake off if bent much after it is on.Nathan

If it were me, I'd look into some "decorative" version versus the real thing. I know your going for a theme, and I respect that. Being a veteran, I appreciate the purpose as well. However, if you have ever been around that crap I can tell you, unless you take a file or somethign and dull the crap out of the edges and points ont hat stuff, your going to lose clothes as well as plenty of your own blood on the stuff. I don't care how careful you think you will be, you will hit it now and then.
Again, just my thoughts. And I would definitely go with the S/S stuff. JMO.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

wire
Thank you all for the suggestions and help with this. Instead of a whole roll - may just find a fence company to get what I need of it. Being Active duty and deployed 4 times I want nothing to do with concertina wire...ha ha ha. But again thanks to all for the help. I may just go with s/s and wrap em up!DirtyNasty

I think that wallet chain is safe
At least it says it has rounded ends and its 29" long. Only need 2 to wrap both bars...
