  • The ultimate motorcycle question????????

    Ok gang, here it is.....

I call it the Girlfriend dilemma?

I noticed on the freeway I stopped leaning the Motorcycle...

And we still made the corners..because the old lady was steering

    the motorcycle from the back....................................

Now it's hard to tell this is really happening... kuz it's so natural (for seasoned

rider) to stop that slight lean...

now try this for yourself don't say anything just try to take notice how you
    sit...hold your self strait up..

if you rode a lot with the old gal........

now I'm not talking about those harsh in town corners...

    the real slight freeway corners......

    Maybe I am Krazy..........

by the way I never told the red head.....Thanks ...from the dog.....

Passengers have to be taught how to ride properly. There is even a MSF course just for passengers! It teaches them how to take over control of the bike if you pass out in front of them!

They need to be comfortable with leaning WITH you. It's like dancing - they have to follow your lead and trust that you aren't going to dump them on the ground.

My daughter learned early on that she can affect the bike from behind me, I learned early on that it is very disconcerting...

My wife hates going around corners that require very much leaning, but she is slowly getting more confortable with it. Made her watch some super moto footage, and realize how much they lean and not end up laying it down! Also have shown her footage of guys who did dismount, and how the bike will try to stand itself back up due to centrifugal (sp?) force.

              Helmet to Helmet

I hate when someone is riding on the back and they can't keep themselves upright.. Like everytime you shift or let of the throttle.. here comes the helmet!

I'm going out on a limb here. Did I miss something here? dog year58 never asked a question, ultimate or other wise. He did put in one question mark but it looked to me to be a statement.

Anyway just messin around with ya.

                Agree with all the responses.

                  Passengers and co-riders

My wife had difficulty at first but eventually settled in. My daughter never did and sat bolt upright no matter what. She would only ride with me if she really needed to be somewhere and the car was indisposed. I did learn how to compensate for her so there was never any real difficulty.
When my future wife and I were dating, she would ride with me but was not in it. After we married and the first kid came along, my wife started with, "When are you getting rid of that motorcycle? You are a family man now with responsibilities." One day I told her I thought I would ride over to the Honda Shop and see what I could get for the ol' 750. When I came back with a new one, she then knew it was time to fish or cut bait. That is when the three us truly bonded, bike being the third of course.

                    Riders

Yes, it is a dilema at my house as well. My wife can't sit still on the couch let alone on the bike. Luckily for me after a couple long rides she won't even get on it anymore. My youngest daughter has me in a bear hug the whole time so leaning isn't a problem with her but my eldest daughter sits up straight and fights me on every corner. My middle daughter gets on and she loves it. First time she sat on it she asked,"what should I do?" I said, don't try to do anything, thats my job. Well... It's almost like riding alone. She loves cornering and the faster the better. Only problem is she's a talker so I spend a lot of time trying to keep up my end of the conversation at low speeds. I do agree with foreda though. I've put a peak on all the passenger helmets so they don't break their noses on the back of my helmet.
