  • Finally!

Well after a four year leave of absence, I just graduate from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. I am now an ensign in the USNR and have a USCG 3rd assistant engineers license for unlimited horsepower plants. What a day!

Were that four years ago when you ran off to sea, Billy?
Kudos on graduating. Where's the official grad photo, does it have the eye patch and the shoulder-parrot?

                    Congratulations!

You've chosen a good career field. At least you'd have transportation to China

                      Congradulations young man!

You have not been forgotten in your absence. The tread you started has more post than any other. OK except for the joke thread.
Your focus and tenacity is much to be admired!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
                      I've been riding since 1959.

Congratulations! I, too, was once an Ensign, USNR, serving in Engineering Departments during the late South East Asian unpleasantness. I loved my time at sea (and shore duty wan't bad either, cause that's where I met SWMBO). May you have a long and rewarding career.
