      Hey Pete,
Yeah, I think that dealer is in fantasyland. Yet, it's a good thing that our investments in time and money are starting to pay off. Hopefully.

Appreciation is nice, but I also appreciate (pun intended) being able to pick up a bike for $500. That price was from a Craig's List ad a few weeks ago for a 1980 Standard that needed the carbs cleaned, and was missing the master cylinder. I almost bought it, but I have a 79 XS650 that needs some attention.

79 XS650 (engine currently squeals like a stuck pig.)

72 Plymouth Satellite (met an unpaved manhole collar, which it managed to tear out of the street, currently has some "issues")

04 Current Designs Solstice GT XL Kayak (I like it because it doesn't have carbs, or any other moving parts)

First of course, the bike must sell for that price for it to effect the value. I can ask 20,000 for mine and it won't change a thing if no one pays it.

Also, not sure how it works in Sunny Florida, but in the midwest anyway, this time of year all bikes are worth double what they were worth in February. And they seem to bottom out about October or November when everyone wants their garage space back for the cars.

+1 Don. I have $550 invested in purchasing 3 11s in the off season.
