Just went down to the Yamaha dealer to get my inspection for the year. Started looking over the new bikes and I gotta say... the new 2011 Yamaha FZ8 looks very tempting at $150 a month for 36 months... comes in at ~460 lbs with a 106 hp 800cc fuel injected power house with a 6 speed fun box. Comes in all black and naked, just like a real motorcycle should look like. After drooling all over it the owner finally asked if I needed any help. Struck up a conversation with him about the FZ8 verses the FZ1 and then he mentioned the first "real" bike he ever owned was a '79 Yamaha XS1100. You should have seen his face when I told him that's what I rode down on lol. He had nothing but good to say about them (not surprised) and I would love the FZ8 since "I have good taste in motorcycles" and he "knows exactly what I like in a bike". I figured it was a perfect time to ask if the FZ8 was available for a ride. Unfortunately, it has to be serviced yet and I'll have to call back so they can have it ready... seriously thinking about getting it. It costs the same as my cell phone bill...I'm thinkin I could live without a cell!

I was looking at one of those too. Really nice for the price.

If it's half as fun riding as my FZ1 is, you are in for a treat. the only thing I don't like is the seat. I am contemplating getting a Corbin. The stock seat is hard on the boyz if know what I mean!

I'm skeptical of the $150/mo. that would only mean your paying $5400 for an $8500 bike...my calculations at 0% interest is that you will be paying around $240 a month for a brand new one...if used i'm thinking it'd be going for about 1000 less than brand new...that makes for just over $200 a month...and both of those are with 0% interest...if thats the amount the salesman told you, I'd be very careful around him...sounds shady! Good luck whatever you do...

I'm betting the 36 months is a 36 month lease not to purchase.

I'm not really sure... that's just what the sign said on it. Seemed low to me, probably going to go back and test ride it just for fun.
