  • See Me, Save me Ride

    I just got back from a motorcycle awareness ride sponsored by the base I work at. Was a pretty cool ride, looked to be about 450-500 bikes in all. We rode across base, picked up more bikes from the off base motorcycle community than through the surrounding towns and then back to the base. We had around 30 motorcycle cops and we never had to put our feet down once. All makes and models of bikes getting along together. Martin Luther "Road" King would have been proud.
    Current Rides: '82 XJ w/Jardine 4-1's, GIVI flyscreen, '97 Triumph Trophy 1200
    Former Rides: '71 CB350, '78 400 Hawk, '75 CB550/4;
    while in Japan: '86 KLR250, '86 VT250Z, '86 XL600R, '82 CB450(Hawk II), '96 750 Nighthawk, '96 BMW F650

      Are you at Hill AFB or Dugway?

      I never had events like that when I was active...

        John, I am at Hill. The see me, save me campaign was started a couple years back at Warner Robins A.L.C. The base has gotten really involved in motorcycle safety due to the huge increase in motorcycle numbers over the past couple years. They have M.S.F. training mandatory every 3 years for the younger troops and for the civilians they don't charge leave for taking the classes.

          That's a cool logo. Should be made into a patch if it hasn't been already.

            What day was that ride? I never heard about it. It would have been cool to be part of... or at least see.

              Forexbob, Ive only seen the emblem on a website and I lifted it from there. I had never seen any copyright marks on it.

              Tcoop, The ride was yesterday from 11 to 1 pm we rode out the Roy Gate up 1900 up to 21st, down washington to 89, up 193 to fairfield, up antelope to Hillfield, back up 193 to 1900 and then back into the Museum. Probably went by South weber around 12:15.

                I was at work in Kaysville at that time. I could have taken a long lunch.

                How often do they do this ride?

                  They usually do it at least once a year to kick off the riding season/101 critical days of summer. But as you know with all the wonderful weather we have been having here, the riding season may not start until July.
