I think I am one. My SF spent it's first year as a dealer demo, then I bought it, and still have it.

                pictures

Ok, not many of us. Lets see some pictures guy's. I can't help but think we have an advantage ( or sickness) depending on how you look at it. We can remember what these bikes performed like brand new, so if it's off a bit, we know it and look for the problem. I always ran continentals on mine, and had I know these bikes didn't handle well at high speeds, I would have been more conservative in the mountains. I didn't, so I drove the sh..t out of it and never had problems dodging small rock slides or pot holes or passing anything on the road not maintaining higher speeds. Young and stupid. Anyway, I put 404's on it last year and I hate them. I don't trust them and have bought a set of battle axes to replace them. However I don't want to take the loss on the Dunlops so I'll ride them (conservatively) until it's time.

I am the first and third owner of my 79SF. Sold it, they wrote it off, I bought it back and fixed it up. So except for a year I had it since new.

                          Hey Mack,

I did a search for "original owner", found some 11 pages worth of posts...mostly because of comments from folks about what the "original owner" did to their bike, etc.!

Anyways, I did find this thread:
                          http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread...original+owner

Probably what you were looking for, it even has a poll!
                          T.C.

PS. Essentially original owner, first one NEVER rode it, bought it in Japan from Navy Exchange, just parked it on base and fired it up every month for 2 years to keep it from rusting internally, was too much of a hassle to license/plate it in Japan, then sold it to me in '83 with 17 miles on the clock, I've had it ever since.

                          79SF "The Teacher" . . .basket case!
                          History shows again and again,

TC I believe the references are to previous owners not original owners.
