I had a similar problem last Spring while down at MOTM. Was fine until I started riding in the rain, then it would pop and jerk if I let the RPMs drop at all. Ended up being a crack in the body of one of the coils. I smeared some JB Weld on the crack after it dried out a bit, and ended up riding home to MO in about 500 miles of solid rain with no problems.

I spoke to Phil tonight seems he is having internet problems, go figure
The coils were swapped out and he has reported that "Addie" is running fine.
He noticed a small crack under all the dirt that was on the coil.
He took it for a good run in the rain today and there were no problems . I am hoping this problem can be put to bedBDF Special
