I smell BS... looks like a rattle-can rebuild to me. Claims powdercoated wheels, but no mention of new wheel bearings (needed because the PC cure heat will ruin the grease), and I don't see any support for the mufflers; looks like they're hanging off the head pipes. If the bike was disassembled as far as claimed, redoing the brakes should have been a no-brainer...

How could the side covers be powder coated? Plastic doesnt like heat all that much....

I think I would agree with your assertions Steve.

That could be accurate, as I think the XJ covers are metal. But the painted engine, and myriad other details don't show me a bike that was done properly IMO...

I can't recall for sure... I was rummaging around in some 'stuff' a local guy had for sale a year or so ago and there was a set of what I thought were XJ covers; I remember being a bit surprised that they were metal, or at least partially so, as they were pretty heavy. But the 'Maxim' emblems were plastic IIRC. I wonder how much of that 'powdercoat' really is...

                Metal and Plastic.

The XJ side covers are metal frames with plastic in the triangle center. The "Maxim" emblem is plastic and suppose to be gold. The side covers clean up pretty nice if your willing to take the time to do it. Not sure what they did to the motor but it seems all the colors are gone from that too.
