My fav right now is from Widmer and is called KGB. It is a Russian imperial stout with 9.3% alc. (almost a barleywine) Unfortunately it is a seasonal brew and will be gone soon. My other go to right now is Sierra Nevada Glissade, a tasty golden Bock.
I used to be like most midwesterners when I was a teenager and only drank industrial beers like bud or miller because I honestly didn't know there was more than beer flavored water available. The best widely available beer in the world without a doubt is NEWCASTLE BROWN ALE. In my younger years my motto was I may not be able to walk but I can still ride. Man am I lucky to be alive I tempted fate more times than I care to admit.
I like dark beer or Bitters from the UK. There is a local brew in Santa Cruz that is really nice, a good stout. Ed and I usually stop for a pint after a Sunday ride, but we keep it to JUST ONE! (A mans gotta know his limits!)
Says the man who doesnt like beer... The roachs may be where the flavour comes from...
that may be where the flavor does come from, but I live in Milwaukee (that is where the brewery is) and I have been there and I know people that have worked there. Those people all say it is the most disgusting place and the amount of bugs and cockroaches is disgusting.
Yep, tried that, liked it. Last time in Oz i found a little boutique bar in Federation Square in Melbourne called "Beers of the World" (or something similar) They had all sorts from all round the world, but you could only buy two bottles any particular brand, sort of a tasters bar. Tried lots of beers before swmbo dragged me out, but i do remember that i liked the Miller Draft.
