Brasso.. All ive ever used. Cleans and removes scuffs and small scratches. Use it on my helmet visor before every ride, and if I have to remove bug splat while on a ride I call into a local pub and use the handsoap and water in the washroom, after a pint.
All the microfibre cloths I've seen have had instructions with them that says NOT to use soap, just water. Soap apparently clogs the cloth and reduces thier efficiency. Never been sold on the things myself, although they do bring up the chrome in the kitchen quite nicely.Last edited by b.walker5; 04-08-2011, 07:04 PM.1980 SG. (Sold - waiting on replacement)

Hi Slo Mo,
I use water witha little dishsoap apply with a sponge or soft cloth.
rinse and dry witha soft cloth. NEVER use paper towel or tissue on plastic screen. I have heard horror stories of Windex on some plastic so i do not use it.

I use a spray foam cleaner designed for tinted window film. The name of the product escapes me but it should be easy enough to find in various brand names

Meguiers' plastic polish... this is the stuff. Not only cleans, but will restore older plastic up to a point. Clean with lots of hot soapy water to get the bug suicides off, then use this...

Cleaning
Sometimes pressure spray at the local coin op car wash, followed by a towel, and most times with a windex type cleaner by Amway called See Spray and a towel. Shield is GE Lexan with no special finish. You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

Gotta go with Steve on this one. Your local automotive paint store and Mequires polish for plastics.81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

Similar to Steve, I use Meguiar's Clear Plastic Polish (part #M-1708) to ensure all the scratches from PO are being removed. I work at a Toyota dealership, so to clean it I use one of the very soft cloths from the Detail Dept. along with Toyota glass cleaner (contains no ammonia, or harsh chemicals).Richard

I've used 3 products: Mequires, Mothers, and an aresol Honda sells specifically for cleaning windshields. The Honda stuff works very well but is very expensive. The Mequires seems to be the best all-round for the money, the Mother's stuff required more elbow grease but does work well. Have used all 3 products on my Shoei lid and visors with no problems over many years of riding. I use the cleaners with those blue paper shop towels.Jerry Fields
